A two-story full-brick exterior on a custom 4,200 sq-ft new build. Sand-mold thin brick chosen for a hand-laid look, with custom arched headers over the front entry, garage doors, and second-story windows. Color was a smoke-grey blend with red mortar accents.
Brick laying coordinated tightly with the framing and window install schedule — windows needed to be in and flashed before brick crews started, and lintels needed to be set before the second story went up. Our brick crew had been on the schedule for six months before we broke ground.
The arch over the front entry was a custom curve drawn by the architect — not a stock arch the brick supplier could deliver as a kit. Our lead mason cut his own forms, dry-laid the arch on the ground first to confirm the radius, and set it in place on day six. Two visitors during the build stopped to ask who laid the brick. That's the kind of work that brings repeat clients.
